The current generation BMW 1 Series comes largely unchanged for the model year 2009. The key features in the luxury model include its ride capability, acceleration, quietness, steering handle and visibility.
On the negative side of the car, the rear seat room, interior storage space and rear seat entry/exit does not meet the luxury standards.
Engine
The new models in 1 Series include 135i and 128i versions. The size and price of the model is almost similar to 3 series model.
2009 BMW 1 series
The 2009 1 series model is available in both the coupe and convertible versions. The standard engine to both the models is a 3.0 liter V6 model that produces 300 hp of power.
The engine can be mated to either 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. With the powerful engine, the luxury car can achieve fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon in the city premises and 28 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
2010 BMW 1 series
It is equipped with most advanced safety features like the park assist system, blind spot detection, traction control, rear view camera, and four wheel disc brakes.
2011 BMW 1 series
The direct competitors to 2011 1 Series include Porsche 911, Mercedes Benz SL class, Nissan GT-R and Audi A5.
